Question: What does Windows Error Code 46 mean?
A Windows Error Code 46 might populate or display a message that looks similar to the following:
Windows cannot gain access to this hardware device because the operating system is in the process of shutting down. (Code 46)
What does it mean then?
1.) The hardware device should work correctly next time that you start the computer.
2.)The device is not available because the system is shutting down.
3.)This error code is only set when Driver Verifier is enabled and all applications have already been shut down.
