Question: How come when I reboot Windows XP skips the Welcome Screen and loads the Administrator desktop instead?
Windows XP Users: All XP Versions
Have you ran into the problem where you reboot and the Windows XP Welcome screen never comes up and you find your computer has just loaded the Administrator desktop instead of giving you a chance to choose which user or desktop you wanted to select? There is a very easy fix for this, please read further below.
The possible solution:
1.) Click on the Start Menu.
2.) Click on RUN.
3.) Type in: control userpasswords2 into the empty field and then click on OK
4.) Check the box that says "To require a password".
That should do it for you hopefully...
